Jaundice is a major cause of death and brain damage in low and middle income countries. This is due to the high cost of the medical devices used to accurately diagnose the condition. In addition, the shortened stays at maternity wards after birth in high income countries has created a demand for more distributed technologies for managing jaundice.

Our patented technology is based on state of the art biomedical optics. This makes us able to provide the best possible estimates of jaundice level while at the same time correcting for skin pigmentation.

Low Cost

Since the only external hardware needed is a printed paper card, we are able to distribute our system at a much lower price point than the competition.

The Picterus App is CE certified as class IIa medical device according to the MDR.
